This site does not ask for your name or any account, and it has no comments. The one form that sends anything is the optional sign-up for update notices, described below; the calculator and the glossary search run in your browser. If you email the author, your message and address are used only to reply.
If you sign up for update notices, your email address goes to Kit, the email service that sends them, and is used only to send a short email when a clarification or refinement is posted to the Updates page. Kit sends a confirmation email first, and nothing is sent until you confirm. Every notice has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect at once. Kit holds the address under its own privacy policy, at kit.com/privacy.
The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives information such as the pages you view, your browser and device type, and your approximate location derived from your IP address. It does not receive anything you type on this site. You can block it with your browser’s privacy settings or with Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
The interactive checklist remembers which items you have ticked by saving them in your own browser (local storage). That record stays on your device and is never sent to this site or anyone else. Clearing your browser data, or the checklist’s Reset button, removes it.
Files on this site are served by its host, Webflow. Links to brokers, data providers, and other services lead to sites with their own privacy policies. Neither the book nor this site contains affiliate or referral links.
